FLORIDA HIGH SCHOOL RODEO ASSOCIATION
WRANGLER JR. HIGH DIVISION
History on Wrangler Division: The National High School Rodeo Wrangle Division was given seed money by Wrangler and charged with the responsibility of growing it into the largest junior rodeo association in the world. Still in it’s early years, this association now includes 40+ states in the US and 4 Canadian provinces. We are supported by outstanding national sponsors who know how important it is to provide our youth with the chance to be competitive student athletes.
The program was designed to reach junior high students during important transitional times in their lives, and to offer them the opportunity to be involved with the positive, family oriented sport of rodeo. It is a great stepping stone into High School rodeo. The NHSRA designed their junior events to prepare athletes for the next level of competition. Wrangler Division allows 6th, 7th and 8th graders to rodeo at both the state and national levels and have the opportunity to earn a variety of college scholarships.
We will be using the “call in” system to enter each rodeo. Call-in will be the Monday prior to the rodeo from 7:00-10:00pm. The call-in number will be 863-581-9654. You must call in for each rodeo, no late entries will be accepted. Once call in is over, it is over. If you cannot call in for yourself, it is your responsibility to have someone else call-in for you.
Call- in information will be posted in the newsletters, in the ground rules and on the web site.
Enclosed is a NHSRA Wrangler Division Membership Application, a National minors release form, a Florida Wrangler Division Membership Application, a Florida Wrangler Division Minors Release form, a Report Card form - Waiver of Eligibility form and a check off sheet. Be sure to review each form noting that you and both your parents must sign the membership forms. Some of these signatures must be notarized. The report card form needs to be signed and stamped by your school. If you home school, the form needs to be signed by the local board of education to certify that you are registered as a home school student and are abiding by the policy required by the state board of education. All members will need to turn in a report card according to your schools schedule. If you are a home school member you will be required to send in a report card to the report card secretary every (6) six weeks. You can fax or mail your report cards to the Report Card Secretary.
Please return all application forms by August 25,2008.
